The Misunderstood Wish

Three friends are stranded on a deserted island when they come across a genie lamp. Excitedly, they rub the lamp and a genie appears.

The genie tells them that he will grant each of them one wish, but it must be something practical to help them survive on the island.

The first friend, who is hungry, wishes for a never-ending supply of food. Poof! A huge buffet appears before his eyes and he starts gorging himself.

The second friend, who is thirsty, wishes for a never-ending supply of water. Poof! A giant waterfall appears on the island and he starts drinking from it.

The third friend, who is homesick, thinks for a moment and then says, "I wish my friends were back with me." Poof! The first two friends disappear and he is left alone on the island.

Confused and frustrated, he turns to the genie and says, "Why did you do that? I meant I wanted my friends back with me, not to be left alone."

The genie shrugs and says, "Well, you should have been more specific in your wish. Now, do you have any other practical wishes or do you want me to grant you a more traditional wish like a million dollars or a fancy car?"

The third friend sighs and says, "Well, I guess a million dollars wouldn't be so bad. But can you make sure my friends are back with me this time?"
