Three friends, Tom, Dick, and Harry, were stranded on a deserted island after their boat capsized during a storm. They had been trying to survive for weeks with little success in finding food or water.
One day, as they were walking along the beach, they stumbled upon a magical lamp half buried in the sand. Excitedly, they rubbed it and out popped a genie.
The genie declared, "I will grant each of you one wish, whatever your heart desires." Tom eagerly stepped forward and wished to be rescued from the island. In an instant, a helicopter appeared and whisked him away.
Dick, not wanting to waste his wish, wished to be transported back home. Just like that, a portal opened up and he was gone.
Harry was left standing alone with the genie, who asked him what his wish was. Harry looked around at the empty island and thought for a moment before replying, "I wish for my friends to be back here with me."
The genie scratched his head in confusion and asked, "But why? You could have wished for anything in the world, and you chose for them to be back on this deserted island with you?"
Harry shrugged and said with a grin, "Well, I figured being lonely is better than being dead."
