A man walks into a bar and orders a drink. As he's sitting there, he notices a sign on the wall that says, "Make the horse laugh and win free drinks for a week."
Intrigued, the man asks the bartender about the sign. The bartender explains that there's a horse out back, and if the man can make it laugh, he'll get free drinks for a week.
So the man decides to give it a shot. He goes out back and starts telling the horse jokes, doing funny dance moves, and even making silly faces. But no matter what he does, the horse just stands there, staring blankly ahead.
Finally, the man gives up and goes back inside. He tells the bartender, "I give up, that horse is impossible to make laugh."
The bartender nods and says, "Well, it's not surprising. That horse has heard all those jokes before. But hey, at least you tried. Say, did you know that if you make the donkey in the next stall laugh, you'll win free drinks for a month?"
The man's eyes light up and he rushes over to the donkey, determined to win those free drinks. He spends hours trying to make the donkey laugh, doing all sorts of silly antics and telling the funniest jokes he can think of.
But once again, the animal just stands there, unimpressed. Frustrated, the man returns to the bartender and says, "I give up. That donkey is even harder to make laugh than the horse."
The bartender chuckles and says, "Well, I hate to break it to you, but those animals aren't here to make you laugh. They're here to entertain the customers. Looks like you're just the butt of the joke!"
