Stranded on an Island: A Fishy Wish

There were three men stranded on a deserted island – a doctor, a lawyer, and a priest. They were getting desperate for food, so they decided to go fishing.

They were out on the water in a small boat when they suddenly spotted a mermaid swimming alongside them. The mermaid looked at them and said, "If you each give me one item you have, I will grant you one wish."

The doctor was the first to volunteer, and he gave the mermaid his stethoscope. In return, he wished to be able to walk on water so he could easily catch fish. The mermaid granted his wish, and he was able to walk on water and catch fish with ease.

The lawyer, feeling inspired, gave the mermaid his wedding ring. In return, he wished to be able to turn any object he touched into gold. The mermaid granted his wish, and the lawyer was ecstatic at the thought of all the riches he could accumulate.

Finally, it was the priest's turn. He thought long and hard about what item to give the mermaid, but all he had on him was a small bottle of holy water. He hesitantly handed it over and said, "I wish for an unlimited supply of food to feed the hungry and the needy."

The mermaid smiled and granted his wish, causing a huge banquet to appear on the boat. The priest was overjoyed and thanked the mermaid profusely.

As they all sat down to enjoy their feast, the doctor looked at the lawyer and said, "You know, it's a good thing the priest didn't bring the church collection plate with him."
