One day, a man was walking along the beach when he came across a genie bottle buried in the sand. Excited, he rubbed the bottle and out popped a genie.
The genie announced that he was a new, modern genie and could only grant one wish. The man thought for a moment and said, "I want a bridge that connects the United States to Europe."
The genie nodded and said, "Okay, but that's a huge wish. It will take me years to build. Is there anything else you want in the meantime?"
The man thought for a moment and then said, "Alright, then I wish for a woman to love me, to be loyal, compassionate, and have a great sense of humor."
The genie nodded and said, "Okay, that's a much easier wish. Your bridge will be complete in 10 years, and in the meantime, I'll bring you the perfect woman."
Ten years passed and the man had completely forgotten about his wish for the bridge. One day, the genie appeared and said, "I have brought you the perfect woman. She is loyal, compassionate, and has a great sense of humor."
The man looked at the woman and said, "Wow, she is perfect! But what about the bridge to Europe?"
The genie replied, "Oh, that's still under construction. But in the meantime, enjoy your new wife – she's much more worth the wait than a silly bridge!"
