Liquid Courage: A Barroom Comedy

A man walks into a bar and sits down to have a drink. The bartender, noticing how down he looks, asks him what’s wrong?

The man replies, “I just found out my wife is cheating on me with my best friend.”

The bartender gasps and says, “That’s terrible! What are you going to do?”

The man takes a long sip of his drink and says, “I’m going to need a stronger drink first.”

So the bartender pours him a shot of whiskey and the man downs it in one gulp. He then orders three more shots, drinks them all, and starts to feel a little better.

The bartender, seeing the man’s mood improve, asks him, “Feeling better?”

The man nods and says, “Yeah, I think I’m ready to confront them.”

As he stands up to leave, the bartender asks, “Are you sure you want to do this?”

The man replies, “Oh, I’m sure. I just need to figure out how to break the news to my wife and best friend.”

The bartender laughs and says, “Well, why not do it like a band-aid and just rip it off?”

The man nods in agreement and says, “You’re right. I’ll go home right now and tell them the truth.”

As he walks out the door, the bartender calls after him, “Good luck! And hey, if things don’t work out, you can always come back here for a free drink!”

The man smiles and waves goodbye as he heads off to face his marital troubles, feeling a little more confident thanks to the bartender’s advice. And as he approaches his house, he can’t help but think about how lucky he is to have such a supportive bartender and a bar that serves such strong drinks.
