Three friends – a squirrel, a deer, and a bear – decide to have a competition to see who can collect the most nuts before winter. They set off into the forest and after a few hours, the bear comes back with a huge pile of nuts.
The deer is impressed and asks, "How did you collect all those nuts so quickly?"
The bear replies, "I just climbed up to the top of a tree and shook it until all the nuts fell down."
Not to be outdone, the squirrel scurries up a tree and starts shaking it vigorously. After a few minutes, he falls out of the tree and lands on the ground with a thud.
The deer rushes over and asks, "Are you okay?"
The squirrel groans and says, "Yeah, I'm fine. I just realized that I should've brought the bear with me to shake the tree instead of doing it myself!"
The deer and the bear burst out laughing at the squirrel's misfortune and continue on their nut-collecting adventure, with the bear still in the lead.
