The Talking Dog Scam

A man was driving down a country road when he saw a sign that read, “Talking Dog for Sale." Intrigued, he pulled into the driveway and approached the owner of the dog.

“Is it true that your dog can talk?” the man asked.

“Yes, he can,” the owner replied. “But he’s a bit selective about who he talks to.”

The man was skeptical but decided to give it a try. He asked the dog, “What’s the capital of France?”

The dog replied, “Paris.”

The man was impressed and asked, “What’s the square root of 144?”

The dog answered, “12.”

Amazed, the man asked one more question, “Who was the greatest baseball player of all time?”

The dog thought for a moment and said, “Ruth.”

The man couldn’t believe it. He turned to the owner and said, “I have to have this dog. How much do you want for him?”

The owner replied, “$50.”

The man quickly handed over the money and left with the talking dog. As he drove away, he turned to the dog and said, “You’re amazing! Why on earth are you only selling for $50?”

The dog looked at him and said, “Because I’m a very good liar. The capital of France is actually London, the square root of 144 is 16, and the greatest baseball player of all time was actually Babe Ruth’s brother, John.”
